RainSoft’s History and Innovation Timeline

1953-John-Grayson

1953 John Grayson starts RainSoft in the basement of his house in Bensenville, IL. Soon after RainSoft moves to its first corporate facility in town.

1954-Apollo-First-Cabinet-Water-Softener

1954 Grayson develops first cabinet softener – the Apollo.

1957-Second-Factory

1957 Solid growth requires more manufacturing space, and in 1957, RainSoft moved into their 2nd facility in Elk Grove Village.

1959-Third-Factory

1959 In just 2 short years RainSoft sees tremendous growth and requires an even bigger facility prompting the company to shift to 3rd facility.

1963-Fourth-Factory

1963 The early 60’s saw RainSoft make big strides in terms of growth, brand awareness and becoming a leader in the industry. The company saw itself move into its 4th facility in a decade.

1974-Fifth-Factory

1974 RainSoft continues its path towards growth within the industry and requires a move into a 5th facility in Elk Grove Village, IL.

1983-RainSoft-Computerized-Q-Valve

1983 Industry’s first computerized control valve introduced - the RainSoft “Q” Valve

1984-Classic-Apollo-Cabinet

1984 Classic Apollo Cabinet Water Softener introduced

1985-First-RainSoft-RO

1985 First RainSoft RO Drinking Water System introduced

1986-Sixty-Facility-Lunt-Avenue

1986 RainSoft moves into sixth facility on Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village, IL.

1993 40-year record. 4,500 softeners, 1,500 RO units in one month.

1995-Next-Generation-RO

1995 Next generation RO introduced

1998-Composite-Valve-Introduced

1998 Composite valve introduced

2006-EC4-Introduced

2006 EC4 Water Conditioner introduced
